If you did not get a chance to watch the presidential forum held at Saddleback Church in CA, you need to! Follow this link to view it: PRESIDENTIAL FORUM
I am not one to mix religion and politics, and this forum did not do that either. What it DID do was give the American people a chance to see how both presidential candidates stand on issues and how they deal with issues when confronted.
What surprised me the most were some of the questions posted by Warren. He asked candidates to share their greatest moral failures as well as positions they have changed their stance on over the last 10 years. WHat is good about this is that it has the potential to take away the fuel for the ridiculous smear campaigns by saying, “We are all human, we all make mistakes and hopefully we all learn and grow from them”.
I also noticed that Warren used the forum to push one of his agenda items like crisis funding for adoption. Though I think this may be good to consider, his bringing up the idea at a forum he is hosting may be seen as a form of lobbying that could discredit the forum in the long run.
When it is all said and done, CNN reporters were surprised and called it, “ground breaking”! Wow.
So what are your thoughts on the forum and the presidential positions? Feel free to chime in with comments below!

I’m trying to understand your statement that “I am not one to mix religion and politics, and this forum did not do that either.” Let’s see — we have two politicians seeking the “evangelical” vote for president being interviewed by a pastor of a religious organization, and we don’t have a mixture of religion and politics? I would call that just such a mixture, and the loser is the “church.”
Is this what the Scriptures tell us the church is to be doing? The church has precisely one task - preach Christ and Him crufified - preach the biblical gospel.
