The first critical question……..Was Jesus just a good person or was he God?  We asked our small group to come up with some qualities of a “good person”.  Then we turned to scripture for some guidance (Matthew 3:17 & John 8:54-58).  Going further into the lesson we see that Jesus forgave sin (Matthew 9:1-7)……..Wait a minute, only God can do that.  Without a doubt, we covered some fantastic verses and sparked some great discussion from the group.

Stay tuned for more from the “junior high group” and remember…the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many (Matthew 20:28).

KEY THOUGHT: Jesus is the only person in history who claimed to be God, and then proved it!

Our Memory Verse Hebrews 11:1-4

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.  This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead.
